Emily and Shayne | Kenosha Wedding Photography

Ceremony: Kemper Center – Kenosha, WI

Reception: Kenosha Best Western

A weeks ago now I had the chance to shoot the wonderful nuptials of Emily and Shayne. They got married at Kemper Center, which I am very familiar with. We used the grounds to do all of our shooting and it was a blast. It was fun to play our giant game of cat and mouse as we had to move to avoid the bride and groom seeing each other as we changed locations. The reception was at the Best Western in Kenosha right down the street. The food was super yummy. We also got a chance to set up the Photo Booth. Here are some samples from their day.

Alyssa and Josh | Kenosha Wedding Photography

Ceremony: Seibert Chapel , Carthage College

Reception: Radisson Hotel

September 26th I had the chance to shoot the wedding of Alyssa and Josh. These two were great to work worth and I had a blast with the bridal party. They had their ceremony at the awesome Seibert Chapel at Carthage College. The natural light and huge organ was a nice backdrop. Here are some of the highlights from their day.

Andrea and Mike | Racine Wedding Photography

This last weekend I had the chance to shoot the wedding of this lovely couple. I have to say up front I was stocked to hear we would be having the wedding ceremony at the “space ship” church in Racine. I have driven by it for years and always wondered what it looked like inside. It was a nice sunny day and actually a bit hot, which was nice. Here are some images from Andrea and Mike’s Racine Wedding:

Church: Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church

Reception Venue: Infusino’s Reception Hall

Amber and Joe : Milwaukee Engagement Session

I had the great pleasure of shooting Amber and Joe’s engagement session a few weeks back. They are getting married next year at the Kenosha Public Museum. When they told me they lived just outside Milwaukee I decided to take the opportunity and shoot in the Third Ward. There are so many cool things to shoot there. I had a blast and even enjoyed lunch with them. I love engagement sessions because it gives me the chance to learn more about the great couples I will be working with. Here are just a few samples from the shoot. Thanks for the memories you two!

July 4th Wedding + Dan and Chelsea = fireworks!

This last 4th of July (Independence Day to the stickler) was a bit out of the ordinary for me. I got the chance to shoot the nuptials of two very good friends of mine. Dan and Chelsea have been together for nearly 7 years leading up to this moment. Last year Dan flew to visit her in Washington D.C. on the 4th of July. On the steps of Capitol Building he proposed to her. The wedding went great.

The ceremony was at their church, Lakeview Church in Zion, IL. The reception was probably one of the most dynamic I have seen. They used the pole barn and land from a member of their church. The place was huge! We got some great shots and even despite the hoards of mosquitoes we had lots of fun. Here are some teaser images until I can release the whole gallery. Look for the slide show soon. I also have a fresh Kenosha wedding to post up as well.

The Knot Reveals 2008 Real Weddings Survey Results…….

I found this article today and thought I would share it with everyone. The link can be found HERE.

Here is a small excerpt:

“TOP PRIORITIES: Venue, Band, and Photography: The bulk of the average wedding budget is dedicated to the reception venue ($13,667, a 7% increase over 2007); followed by the reception band ($3,633 on average); and photography ($2,655 on average).”

It was nice to see photography in the top 3 items that are the top priorities. I heard once that only 30% of your wedding will go beyond the the wedding day. I mean think about it, the cake goes bad, the limo drives off, the church gets ready for the next day’s service. The things you take with you forever are the photography and videography (if you have that done).

When all is said and done the one thing that will endure from generation to generation will be the photos. Your grandchildren will get to look at that and say “Grandma I can’t believe you wore that! :-) “. I may be a bit biased being a photographer myself but I think it is safe to assume my couples understand this and see the value in the investment that they are making.

Find anything interesting in the article? Leave a comment.

Allison, Darren and Kenosha's rainy wedding season

Good evening everyone. In no more than 36 hours I will be boarding a plane for Fort Meyers Florida to shoot my first destination wedding. I am very excited and hope to have some images for you soon. I have been meaning to post some images from Allison and Darren’s wedding that I shot last month. The day was rainy and it was touch and go as to whether or not it would be outside but the weather held and the wedding happened. It was a great ceremony and an awesome couple. Here are some images.
