Andrea and Mike | Racine Wedding Photography

This last weekend I had the chance to shoot the wedding of this lovely couple. I have to say up front I was stocked to hear we would be having the wedding ceremony at the “space ship” church in Racine. I have driven by it for years and always wondered what it looked like inside. It was a nice sunny day and actually a bit hot, which was nice. Here are some images from Andrea and Mike’s Racine Wedding:

Church: Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church

Reception Venue: Infusino’s Reception Hall

Christina and Juan : July 11th Petrifying Springs Wedding

I have finally gotten caught up on all the weddings from the last month. On July 11th I had the chance to shoot the nuptials of Christina and Juan. The wedding was at Petrifying Springs park outside. The day couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun got a little hot but everyone made it through. The reception was right across from the ceremony. Most of the table decorations and favors were all hand done and looked great. The bride and groom had such a good time. Here are some images from their day!

The Knot Reveals 2008 Real Weddings Survey Results…….

I found this article today and thought I would share it with everyone. The link can be found HERE.

Here is a small excerpt:

“TOP PRIORITIES: Venue, Band, and Photography: The bulk of the average wedding budget is dedicated to the reception venue ($13,667, a 7% increase over 2007); followed by the reception band ($3,633 on average); and photography ($2,655 on average).”

It was nice to see photography in the top 3 items that are the top priorities. I heard once that only 30% of your wedding will go beyond the the wedding day. I mean think about it, the cake goes bad, the limo drives off, the church gets ready for the next day’s service. The things you take with you forever are the photography and videography (if you have that done).

When all is said and done the one thing that will endure from generation to generation will be the photos. Your grandchildren will get to look at that and say “Grandma I can’t believe you wore that! :-) “. I may be a bit biased being a photographer myself but I think it is safe to assume my couples understand this and see the value in the investment that they are making.

Trash the Dress…… Part Deux

Sometime back when the weather was warmer and the days seemed much longer I did a Trash the Dress shoot for my friend Joy. With hubby James in tow we made the rounds through wonderful downtown Kenosha. I had been eye-balling the fountain in front of the museum for some time now and thought that Joy would be the perfect person to pull off some fun shots. Enjoy the shots and contact me if your interested in doing something like this. It’s ok, in the end the dress can still be cleaned. :-)

Indian Summer……

Well here we are the second week of October in 80 degree weather. Kind of crazy I think. Last week I had an opportunity to go with the great folks of SmugMug to Glacier National Park in Montana. I had a lot of fun and got a chance to shoot landscape instead of bridalscape (not that I mind weddings) for the first time in 4 months. I just thought I would share some images with you.
