Christina and Juan : July 11th Petrifying Springs Wedding

I have finally gotten caught up on all the weddings from the last month. On July 11th I had the chance to shoot the nuptials of Christina and Juan. The wedding was at Petrifying Springs park outside. The day couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun got a little hot but everyone made it through. The reception was right across from the ceremony. Most of the table decorations and favors were all hand done and looked great. The bride and groom had such a good time. Here are some images from their day!

July 4th Wedding + Dan and Chelsea = fireworks!

This last 4th of July (Independence Day to the stickler) was a bit out of the ordinary for me. I got the chance to shoot the nuptials of two very good friends of mine. Dan and Chelsea have been together for nearly 7 years leading up to this moment. Last year Dan flew to visit her in Washington D.C. on the 4th of July. On the steps of Capitol Building he proposed to her. The wedding went great.

The ceremony was at their church, Lakeview Church in Zion, IL. The reception was probably one of the most dynamic I have seen. They used the pole barn and land from a member of their church. The place was huge! We got some great shots and even despite the hoards of mosquitoes we had lots of fun. Here are some teaser images until I can release the whole gallery. Look for the slide show soon. I also have a fresh Kenosha wedding to post up as well.

Back from my Honeymoon!

Good afternoon one and all! It feels good to be back…actually I lie. I would have loved to stay there for another two weeks but I have so many wonderful clients to work with here at home there was no such luck. My new wife Paulina and I had a great time in sunny Oahu Hawaii. We got a chance to see tons of cool stuff and my wife got her first chance to see the ocean and get a taste of salt water. Here is a shot of us at the Byodo-In temple replica in Kaneohe Hawaii. She has mastered the Myspace-esque (is that even a word?) technique of shooting both of us.

The next several weeks will be super busy for me. I have an awesome wedding to shoot on the 4th of July for two very good friends and then the weekend after I am shooting for Christina and Juan. I am also presently working on Jennifer and Gary’s album. So much fun stuff to keep me busy. I am looking forward to all the wonderful weddings coming up in the next few months.

I wanted to make a pitch while I was typing this post for anyone interested in 2010 dates. I am getting a lot of inquiries and my dates are filling up pretty fast so contact me and we can get together and get comfortable with the fact that I will be the man for the job. :)

May 23rd Wedding: Jennifer and Gary – Reception Bristol Oaks Country Club

PLEASE NOTE I WILL BE GONE ON MY HONEYMOON UNTIL JUNE 23RD.

Good evening one and all. Just working on some last minute details before my wedding Saturday. I can’t believe it’s here already. I just wanted to share some great images from Jennifer and Gary’s wedding May 23rd. There wedding was in Kenosha and the reception was at Bristol Oaks Country Club. I had a chance to get some good shots and tried a few new things. I bought a package of Polaroid 600 film (very expensive I might add. LOL.) to mess with. I had Jennifer and Gary look at each other and took separate shots. I had a lot of fun. Their little daughter Manda was quite the show stealer. She loved having pictures taken.

Wedding this weekend and my own!

Good day one and all. Wedding season is kicking up into high gear this month with another wedding shoot this weekend. The lovely couple of Jennifer and Gary are getting married in Kenosha. The reception is at Bristol Oaks country club which I am excited to shoot at. I think I may take a drive out there today and see what there is to be had.

18 days left until my own wedding! I am in overdrive mode to get all that finished as well. Please note that because of the wedding and our awesome honeymoon to Hawaii I will be “closed” from June 1st until the 23rd. Now this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t email me if you want to book a date, it just means that I will be a bit slower getting back to you. I mean a guy deserves a little time for his honeymoon right?

Have a blessed week.

Dan : Chelsea E- Session

Had the opportunity to shoot some engagement pictures for some great friends a few weeks back. We managed to have a lot of fun despite the rough wind and the eventual torrential downpour. Here are some samples from their shoot. We shot in Zion at the old cookie factory.

Weddings Weddings Everywhere…………..

Good day one and all. Cinco de Mayo to some, just a Tuesday to others. Hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful spring weather. I have finished working on the images from Erin and Chad’s Kenosha wedding. I think the set turned out really nice, and they are one dang cute couple. In the next few weeks I have another wedding to shoot in Kenosha. Then a few short weeks after that on June 6th is my wedding. 32 days from now I will marry the love of my life.

Here are some highlights from Erin and Chad’s wedding. Their ceremony was in Paris Wisconsin and the reception was at the Parkway Chateau.

April 18th Kenosha Wedding – Erin and Chad

Last weekend I had the awesome opportunity to see the nuptuals of Chad and Erin. They got married at this cool church in the corn fields of Wisconsin. The reception was at the Parkway Chateau. I have never been to that venue before and was very surprised. These two were a lot of fun and I got some good stuff. Right now here are a couple teasers until the final set is uploaded.

The Knot Reveals 2008 Real Weddings Survey Results…….

I found this article today and thought I would share it with everyone. The link can be found HERE.

Here is a small excerpt:

“TOP PRIORITIES: Venue, Band, and Photography: The bulk of the average wedding budget is dedicated to the reception venue ($13,667, a 7% increase over 2007); followed by the reception band ($3,633 on average); and photography ($2,655 on average).”

It was nice to see photography in the top 3 items that are the top priorities. I heard once that only 30% of your wedding will go beyond the the wedding day. I mean think about it, the cake goes bad, the limo drives off, the church gets ready for the next day’s service. The things you take with you forever are the photography and videography (if you have that done).

When all is said and done the one thing that will endure from generation to generation will be the photos. Your grandchildren will get to look at that and say “Grandma I can’t believe you wore that! :-) “. I may be a bit biased being a photographer myself but I think it is safe to assume my couples understand this and see the value in the investment that they are making.

Find anything interesting in the article? Leave a comment.
