April 18th Kenosha Wedding – Erin and Chad

Last weekend I had the awesome opportunity to see the nuptuals of Chad and Erin. They got married at this cool church in the corn fields of Wisconsin. The reception was at the Parkway Chateau. I have never been to that venue before and was very surprised. These two were a lot of fun and I got some good stuff. Right now here are a couple teasers until the final set is uploaded.

The Knot Reveals 2008 Real Weddings Survey Results…….

I found this article today and thought I would share it with everyone. The link can be found HERE.

Here is a small excerpt:

“TOP PRIORITIES: Venue, Band, and Photography: The bulk of the average wedding budget is dedicated to the reception venue ($13,667, a 7% increase over 2007); followed by the reception band ($3,633 on average); and photography ($2,655 on average).”

It was nice to see photography in the top 3 items that are the top priorities. I heard once that only 30% of your wedding will go beyond the the wedding day. I mean think about it, the cake goes bad, the limo drives off, the church gets ready for the next day’s service. The things you take with you forever are the photography and videography (if you have that done).

When all is said and done the one thing that will endure from generation to generation will be the photos. Your grandchildren will get to look at that and say “Grandma I can’t believe you wore that! :-) “. I may be a bit biased being a photographer myself but I think it is safe to assume my couples understand this and see the value in the investment that they are making.
